DRY RISERSA "Dry Riser" is a system of pipe work and valves that enables water to be delivered for fire fighting purposes to all floors in buildings over 18 metres high. It consists of a vertical pipe with landing valves fitted inside cabinets on each floor that provides outlets, enabling the fire service to connect into the water supply. |
|
The system can be charged with water by pumping from a fire service appliance via an Inlet Breaching valve fitted inside a cabinet on the outside of a building at ground level. There is an air release valve fitted at the highest point to enable the riser to be fully charged. On each floor there is a landing valve inside an outlet cabinet. |
